Hi, Hudson.
Thanks for letting us know and sorry you're having trouble with your links. I don't readily recognize this so we'll need a little more information to better help.
So we can check out what may be happening, can you contact us at support@groupsite.com and include:
- The name of your Groupsite, or if it's happening in more than one
- The URL of the page(s) where the problem happens, and what links you're clicking on (in a file, a module, a blog post or discussion topic, etc.)
- The operating system (Windows Vista, for ex.) and web browser/version you're using when the error occurs.
A screen shot of the error may also help.
Thanks,
Diana, Groupsite.com Support
Hudson - We received the details.
Your Groupsite is using the Enhanced Security feature The problem seems to be due to the fact that you are navigating from a HTTPS protected page to a linked non-HTTPS protected page -- and the "navigation canceled" message is how IE handles such situations when you do not prompt that browser to load insecure content.
The problem does not occur in Chrome, Firefox, etc.
Potential resolutions include:
1) Choose a different Web browser
2) When prompted by IE "Do you want to display nonsecure items" in the navigation process, choose YES. For me, this resulted in the page loading instead of a "navigation canceled" message.
If you are not prompted with this message, there may be security settings in your web browser you can change to allow you to download insecure (non-HTTPS) pages and content.
3) For Groupsites using Enhanced Security, link only to secure (https://) pages or content
4) Remove site-wide HTTPS encryption from your website.
Standard Groupsites include SSL security on sensitive pages - such as log-in, password reset and payment pages. Removing the "Enhanced Security" feature (site-wide SSL) may be the best solution if you are not sharing sensitive data throughout your Groupsite as it will prevent the problem from happening to others.
I've posted the above information to make it available for search and to others.
For the specific and further detail, please look for the email that we sent from our Support mailbox.
Thank you,
Diana
