Search not working

Search field is not working. I type in members names, and they don't show up. However, if I look through all the members, I can find them.
Also, any way to make it easier to page through the members? Even if you sort by the choices given, it takes a long time to scroll through the pages if they are in the middle of the alphabet.

Are they new members? I think I remember someone saying something about Groupsite having to index them first, so they may show up in a search after a while.
I agree with Stacie. I've had similar difficulty.
I was doing a search on multiple members that joined about 1 1/2 months ago.
Stacie - you should now find new content indexed within minutes of being added. Recent system-wide queuing improvements we implemented should also help prevent this from happening again in the future.
Generally speaking, the filtered view of member searches is used for browsing profiles. The "universal" Search is used for locating a specific member. We may be able to add "members" as a category to help narrow what the universal search returns, or add a secondary search to the "browse by" filter options. Thanks for your feedback - I made a note for us to look into enhancing this tool in the future under Ticket #2086.
