Not able to send mass invites
Hi,
I have been attempting to send mass invites (500+) using the "Invite" page.
However everytime the system times out saying "Oops - our servers are busy collaborating". This has been the experience over five times within the last three weeks. It is quite frustrating and wastes lot of time.
If the invite is sent only to a few emails (say 100 or less), the system works fine. Wd like to know if others faced this problem as well?
I get an impression there is reliability / performance related problem with groupsite hosted environment.
Ours is a fully paid a/c and to face such problems with even the "basic" features like invite sending is much disappointing.
Can we get to see groupsite hosted in a much more reliable hosting environment.
Perhaps give higher reliable/bandwidth hosted environment to paid a/c vs. free ones?.

Hi, Sethu. Thanks for reporting this issue and sorry for any frustration. You shouldn't have to experience this, let alone 5 times. I know this doesn't help you now (i.e., if it doesn't work, it doesn't work), but this may actually be a design flaw and not a server reliability issue. I've noted one other report of this and we'll be investigating what's happening under Ticket #1470.

Just to update, I tried sending invites five times within the last two days and the problem continues with messages like "Bad Gateway" "Oops our servers are busy collaborating".
I recall this was not the case when we started up our groupsite in Aug/Sep 2008. Invites were being sent out fine even for 1500 email ids at a time. Could help in ur diagnosis.

Sethu - an update: we believe we've fixed this and you should again be able to send larger numbers of invitations, at one time, as you did in the past. Thanks for your patience as we worked on this and sorry for any inconvenience!
