Issue Just Discovered..

While creating a discussion post at my Jeep site.. I wanted to forward the post to twitter.. Basically head to twitter then type a "general" sentence and then post the Url redirecting users to your original post (here at the discsoiond forums or anywhere else).

The issue is.. some of the "Urls" are way to long and us up the max limit of the text characters allowed by twitter (140) In an effort to correct this, can Groupsite reconfigure the Urls to be or read what's called "Shortened urls" used by many other web sites like my favorite virb.com

Virb has even posted a response to this with other users. Here is a sample of what I'm referring to which is a redirect to one of my images located at virb.com

Original length URL:

http://virb.com/thebackroadsofourmemories/photos/6012939

Shortened Version URL:

http://virb.com/p/6012939

Note the difference in urls above.

Shortened URLs are great when you have a short domain.  This is something we could potentially explore in the future, but right now there are a few great options for you to use, such as bit.ly, tinyurl, tr.im, tinyarro.ws.

After creating a "Rice Spaghetti Gluten Free" Dinner.. on one of our family's cooking sites.. I discovered that groupsite automatic adjusted the "share" to post anywhere and everyone where Groupsite has connecting or widgets.

In this case I was able to create and write the recipe, post at the blog area of our site then click the "share" button located at the middle to bottom left of the posted page. This allows me to select the option or the linked site I wanted to send the blog post to. In this case I was able to send the blog post to my wife's Twitter account and of course making any necessary alterations to the highlight message tab before sending.

In light of this.. The comment or Suggestion made above is not necessary due to the fact Groupsite has this "reposting" or "share" option already available.

Thanks Groupsite.. and I'm still exploring.
