Email Engagement Issue

When members receive an email asking them to join a specific discussion, the "Join this Discussion" button in the email takes them to the discussion forum, not to the discussion they were emailed about. They then have to hunt around for that discussion. I've had members tell me they get very annoyed by this and often abandon the task as a result. Can this be fixed so when the member clicks on the button, it takes them directly to the discussion they were emailed about? Here's a of the email button I'm talking about:

Brian - The way you want it to work is the way it is designed to work. I clicked on the "Click here to join discussion" link it took me right here. I am open to the fact that there might be a bug that is intermittent but I have not been able to re-create. Next time you get this, can you please forward me the exact email?

I see the issue, Brian.
When someone replies to a topic, the URL for the "Click here to Join Discussion" button is a bit mangled and confuses a few browsers. It should be fixed within the next few minutes.
Let us know if you see this happening again in the future.
Hi all,
This was working for a while, but in both my browsers (IE and Firefox, both the latest updates), I am getting sent back to the Summary page for the Groupsite. I event tried to copy and paste the link, and got bounced away from the discussion thread.

Thanks for reporting this, Stephen. We've seen a few other examples of this in the past month. It seems to happen randomly which makes it more difficult find the root cause(es). If you do see any other examples, please report the link here or to support and we'll continue to investigate. (Ticket #1691)
