Required custom profile fields not enforced
I had a situation where a new member was able to get in with blank answers on requited textbox custom profile fields.
1) Please check to make sure this is enforcing
2) Please tell us what will currently occur when a person tries to submit an invalid entry
3) Please tell us what will currently occur to existing users who were members prior to the creation of required fields: Will they be forced to fill out the custom fields on the next login?
It would be great if there were some basic validation or the option of a regex engine to apply against the fields.
In the case of invalid entry, I would suggest an ajax type validation (validate as they enter)
In the case where required custom fields are created after a user has become a member I would suggest the following: On next login request that they enter all unentered data but only force one field to be completed for that session. Each consecutive login remind them of required missing fields, offer the ability to complete the remainder, but instruct them that they must complete at least one of the missing fields and force/require the completion of that field for that session.

Jonathan, I'm unable to find an example of someone who got in without the required fields being enforced. Are you sure that they didn't get in while the "required" box was still unchecked, or before the question existed?
If you're sure, can you point me to which question it was, and which user it was?

Absolutely sure. If you send me an email I can send you the persons name. The dashboard showed her as a new member and when I clicked on her name all of her fields were blank.
