Has any consideration been given to the ability to rate or recommend forum messages? Sort of as a means to corroborate (or discount) the information it contains?

I would also like to see RATINGS as I see it becoming one of the more increasingly popular ways for members to interact / collaborate socially. I'm sure there are some basic widgets out there we can try to plugin and I will try... but integrated into the core application would be nice. Perhaps there are vendors out there willing to integrate with CollectiveX (e.g. white label ratings app). There are some rudimentary scripts here and there when I Google for them... they look nice and perhaps thats all you need to build it into the app. But I'll leave the tech to Joe.
I recommend a thumbs up/thumbs down model like is used in govcentral.com

Have you considered adding a rate feature to discussion forums?

We have chatted about this internally, but the ability to rate discussion forums did not receive a high priority ranking. I have seen a few groups add polls or surveys aimed at rating or voting for the most useful or "buzz" generating discussion forums.
