Take advantage of google reader's new "send to" features

Google reader is really expanding as a tool. Just recently they introduced the ability to send articles to a variety of sources (twitter, facebook). Is there any way some kind of integration with groupsites could happen. In particular, I would like to share abstracts from journals to my groupsite blog and calendar events from google feeds to the groupsite calendar.
